Since 1948, Amico has been manufacturing spiral cardboard cylinders for textile manufacturers in Israel. In the 1950s and 1960s, large manufacturing plants, such as Kitan in Dimona, Habashan in Beit She’an, Bagir in Kiryat Gat, Polgat, Gibor Sabrina and Gibor Sport and Arad Towels were established, which manufactured textile products for domestic consumption and export.
In recent years, the textile industry has been making a comeback in the form of smart fabric for medical use, fashion, defense, protection and cloths that change color and shape of their own accord, covers instead of chargers for electrical appliances, and a cloth that will help identify injured people in the field – the personal information age is reviving the textile industry and returning smart fabric to laboratories.
Amico has readapted its tubes to the industry to fulfill new manufacturing needs, such as polished tubes, reinforced tubes and high straightness level and smooth surface tubes to prevent cloth fiber breakage.
